Thank you for inspiring me to persevere and be the best student teacher I could be. You allowed me to try out different types of lessons with open arms. I appreciate that you were all so open to giving me feedback despite allowing it to affect the relationships we formed in the classroom. Your feedback allowed me to change up my units in the best interest for your learning. Thank you for allowing me to reflect on my practice. I am very happy that I was able to meet each and every one of you. It allowed waking up every morning become exciting because I knew I was going to see each one of you waiting at the door for a high five. (At times inside the class before the bell even rang ). I enjoyed watching you grow and develop over the time being I was there. In fact, I was growing at the same time. I am happy I had many opportunities to learn with and from you.
Next year you will be entering High School. The transition comes with moments of excitement, uncertainty, sadness, joy and a mix of all the above. I too went through those feelings as I left our classroom at the end of my practicum so I can relate to what you might be feeling. Nevertheless, life comes with change because there are many opportunities ahead to look forward to! Change becomes a part of our own personal growth. As you enter high school be curious, follow your passions, be kind, collaborate with your friends, be willing to meet others, take risks and be willing to ask for help if you do not understand.
I hope you enjoy your final weeks in grade 7 and the summer ahead. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your classroom community. Keep in touch :)
Sincerely,
Ms. Bains- The Luckiest Student Teacher :)
